December Apprentice update from our Functional Skills Team!

This December has seen all our apprentices working hard before the Christmas break! Our Tutors have been working equally hard – they have been delivering power week training (where tutors take their learners from zero to hero!) as well as a lot of developmental work going on behind the scenes. Read all about it from our Functional Skills Manager, Lesley Williams, below!

November Draw

From the November learners who passed their exams, we have now drawn the winner! I am delighted to announce that the winner of a £50 gift card is an LGV apprentice from XPO Wolseley, Melmerby. Congratulations!

December Apprentice Update

November and December have seen a further 38 passes so far, with another 27 exams we are awaiting results for. Remember, every pass in December will be entered into our monthly draw, and the winner announced on the 9^th January!

Level 1 Maths

There are some excellent maths results coming through!

Many learners are achieving strong passes well over the pass mark. Apprentices from DPD have particularly shone in this area, and a special mention goes to one apprentice, from DPD York, with a result of 51/60. Great work! The maths tutors are excited to see your results for level 2 maths when you attend next month.

Level 1 English

Brilliant results have been seen in the English exams too!

Apprentices from BCA, DPD and XPO have shown great skill in the exams with results like 18/20 for the reading and 41/48 for the writing. This accompanied with passes in their speaking, listening and communication assessment has awarded them the full English qualification.

Behind the Scenes

The tutors are building our very own learning resource for English and maths!

It will include videos and interactive activities to help you prepare ahead of your power week. The dream is to have a resource that reflects SP and the tutors you will meet during training. Most importantly, it will provide you with user friendly learning opportunities.
