We are shortlisted for the BECBC Business Awards!

We are so excited to announce that SP Training has been shortlisted for one of the prestigious business awards by the BECBC (British Energy Coast Business Cluster)!

What are the BECBC Business Awards?

The BECBC are a not-for-profit business cluster bringing together businesses from across the world who support the clean energy industry and wider supply chain. BECBC helps to grow businesses, forge key partnerships and collaborations, inspire the next generation of Cumbrian leaders and develop the local economy. These awards celebrate the achievements of BECBC members, showcasing their incredible achievements and business practices.

What award have we been shortlisted for?

SP Training has been shortlisted for the Growing Business Category at the BECBC Business Awards! This award nomination showcases our incredible growth over the past few years. The Growing Business Award is all about growing job numbers, increasing market penetration and reach or increasing sales. It takes into account our proven growth track record and our drive to succeed and continued growth.

Welcome to the judges!

Following our successful shortlisting, we welcomed the judges to our airport site last week. They got to see our operation and have a chat about what we do.

We were delighted to meet the judges – John Grainger from the BECBC, Stephen Shepherd from Numech and Karen Dicks from Sellafield/Altrad Babcock. From our end, Lyndsey Fitheridge, John Pitchford and James Spark presented our application in person. This allowed us to answer any questions and give them a tour of our facilities. They even took the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of our trucks!

This meeting went extremely well and we are hopeful for our chances within this category! We are looking forward to the awards dinner on the 16th November at Energus, keeping our fingers crossed and supporting all the businesses that are shortlisted for this fantastic event.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our business. It increases our exposure in the whole of Cumbria and allows us to make new connections. The nomination and subsequent shortlist is a testament to all the hard work everyone in the business is doing. We want to thank everyone in the business for their continued commitment to ending the driver shortage in the UK!
