Forklift Truck & MHE Instructors
Full-time | Carlisle & Workington | £30,000-£32,000
What we’re looking for
We are looking for experienced FLT & MHE trainers, to join a well-established and growing logistics training company with clients across the UK. If you’re passionate about training and sharing your skills within the warehousing and storage industry, we would love to hear from you!
The warehousing and storage industry is booming. The need to ensure that operators are well trained and working safely is more important than ever. Depending on your FLT & MHE experience, this role has a starting salary of £30,000 to £32,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
This role will be based at an SP Training Centre either Helvellyn Building, Carlisle Airport Business Park, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA6 4NW or Lillyhall Industrial Estate, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 4JH. There may be requirement for travel between the two sites on occasion.

In this role you will join a well-established team of trainers to deliver basic and technical related training, evaluate and monitor the progress of learners and support them through skills development and test process.
The starting salary is £30,000 to £32,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
This role could be full or part time and can be discussed at interview stage.
Roles & Responsibilities
As part of the role you will:
• Deliver FLT & MHE training to a cohort of committed learners, to the high standards required by the company and our clients whilst meeting all the awarding and examining bodies requirements as well as completing centre documentation in a timely fashion.
• Assess and ensure that participants have the required skills to effectively and safely perform the driving/operational duties that their role requires.
• Take responsibility for the supervision of course participants, risk assessments and Health & Safety requirements relevant to FLT/MHE training.
Qualifications/ Knowledge Required
Essential
• Accredited FLT Operator qualification e.g. RTITB
• RTITB FLT Instructor qualification (if you hold a different instructor qualification, we will support conversion to RTITB)
• Previous experience of coaching, assessing and/or training
• Experience in working in the warehousing and storage industry
• A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to use a computer
Desirable
• Additional vehicle and MHE machinery licenses

HGV Driver CPC Trainer
Self-employed | or part-time | £32,600
Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Driver CPC Trainer to join our team on a flexible basis – self-employed or employed. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) workshops to qualified HGV drivers.
Training may be delivered in a classroom setting at our own or client’s premises as well as online. We anticipate this role will be mainly based out of our Lillyhall site in Workington as well as supporting clients around the South of the county.
As a Trainer, you will play a key role in enhancing drivers’ skills, knowledge, and professionalism in various areas, including but not limited to:
• Road safety and accident prevention strategies
• Driver health and well-being, including fatigue management and mental health awareness
• Vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and cargo securing techniques
• Legislation, compliance, and working time regulations
• Customer service, conflict resolution, and representing the company professionally
• Emergency procedures and response protocols
• Environmental impact, fuel efficiency, and eco-driving techniques
• Security awareness, including identifying suspicious activities and cargo security
Roles & Responsibilities
• Deliver Driver CPC workshops covering the specified topics to qualified HGV drivers
• Provide clear and concise explanations of relevant topics, ensuring driver understanding and engagement
• Evaluate driver performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement
• Accurately complete records of training sessions and complete relevant administration
