Months 1 - 4

Building Core Knowledge

During the first stage of the programme, learners will develop the core knowledge needed to succeed within a transport and logistics environment, including:

Months 5 - 6

Putting Skills Into Practice

Learners will begin putting their knowledge into practice through workplace-based activities and real operational experience, including:

Month 7

Safe, Legal and Compliant Transport Operations

Learners will receive access to the Nimble online learning platform and take part in a 5 day workshop to ensure deep understanding of:

  • Operator licensing requirements
  • Driver hours and tachograph regulations
  • Vehicle maintenance and compliance
  • Road transport legislation
  • Transport documentation and record keeping
  • Financial and operational management responsibilities
  • Managing transport operations safely and compliantly

At the end of this phase learners will have the opportunity to sit the Management CPC examination outside of their apprenticeship study.

Month 8

Preparing For Gateway Success

With support from a dedicated tutor, learners will prepare for the final stage of the apprenticeship, ensuring they feel confident and fully ready to complete their programme successfully whilst also exploring:

Optional Transport Manager CPC

Learners also have the opportunity to complete the Transport Manager CPC qualification as part of the programme.

This industry-recognised qualification supports progression into higher-level transport, compliance, and operational management roles, whilst also meeting the legal requirement for operating vehicles over 3.5 tonnes under an operator licence.

Embedding the CPC within the programme provides added value for both learners and employers, supporting long-term career development within the transport and logistics sector.
