End Point Assessment (EPA)

The End Point Assessment (EPA) is the final stage of the Passenger Transport Driver Apprenticeship, designed to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and behaviours apprentices have developed throughout their training. Conducted by an independent assessment organisation, the EPA ensures that apprentices meet the industry standards required to operate as competent, professional passenger transport drivers.

Multiple Choice Test: A 45-minute assessment covering topics such as safe and fuel-efficient driving, vehicle and load security, and relevant regulations.

Practical Assessment: A two-hour evaluation of the apprentice’s skills in vehicle journey planning, pre-use checks, and driving proficiency.

Interview: A 30-minute discussion assessing knowledge and behaviours not covered in the other assessments.

Successful completion of the EPA demonstrates the apprentice’s readiness to meet the demands of the role, ensuring they can contribute to high-quality passenger transport services while adhering to regulatory and organisational standards.
