You will only be considered for finance if you:
• Are at least 18 years old
• You’re in paid employment or have a regular income (minimum 16 hours per week or £7,200 per annum
• Have a good credit history (Guarantor loans may be available if you have a history of poor credit)

CAT C Licence

SP Training

A Category C (Class 2/Rigid) HGV licence entitles you to drive vehicles weighing up to 32,000kgs with or without a trailer (trailers must not weight more than 750 kgs).

This licence allows you to drive hundreds of different vehicles in a wide range of industries.

  • Online Theory Learning – In your time and at your pace
  • Mod 1A, Mod 1B & Mod 2 Theory Tests – Local test centre
  • 5 Days Practical HGV Training – With Mod 3A & Mod 3B tests

CAT C+E Licence

SP Training

A Category C+E (Class1) HGV licence entitles you to drive any HGV with a trailer. You may also hear this licence described as ‘Artic’ short for Articulated meaning that the vehicles separate into both cab and trailer.

This licence has a high earning potential and is commonly used for haulage, long distance and international deliveries.

  • 10 Days Practical HGV Training – With Mod 3A & Mod 3B tests

      SP Training

      Programme Details


      Step 1: Meet the Basic Requirements
      • Age: You must be at least 18 years old.
      • Licence: You must already hold a full Category B (car) licence.
      • Hold a valid provisional licence to drive cat C or C+E vehicles.
      Step 2: Online Theory Learning

      Online learning at your own pace and time preparing for:

      • MODULE 1A: Multiple Choice Test.
      • MODULE 1B: Hazard Perception Test.
      • MODULE 2: Driver CPC Case Studies Test.
      Step 3: Pass the Theory Tests

      There are two parts:

      • Multiple Choice Test: 100 questions, 85 correct to pass.
      • Hazard Perception Test: Video clips testing your response to hazards (pass mark: 67/100).
      • Driver CPC: Computer-based case studies simulating real-world driving situations.
      Step 4: Practical Driver Training
      • Training typically lasts 5 (CAT C) or 10 (CAT C+E) days.
      • Covers driving, safety checks, reversing, and more.
      Step 5: Take the Practical Test (Category C/C+E Driving Test)
      • Vehicle safety questions (Show Me/Tell Me).
      • Off-road exercises (reversing, braking).
      • On-road driving test (~1 hour).
      Step 6: Pass Driver CPC Module 4 (Practical Demonstration)
      • “Show me, Tell me” style test covering safety, load securing, emergencies.
      • Held at approved DVSA test centres.
      Step 7: Receive Your Licence and Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
      • Your licence is upgraded to include Category C/C+E.
      • Receive your Driver Qualification Card (CPC card) by post.
