Course Structure & Content

The course is delivered over 4 days (Core, Packs and 7 Classes) or 5 days (Core, Packs, Tanks & 7 classes) including the exams and is also driver CPC accredited, with 2 free days from the government and up to a further 2 days for the DVSA upload fee of £8.75 per day.

  • Core Module (Compulsory) – General ADR principles, responsibilities, legal requirements, and emergency procedures.
  • Packages Module (Compulsory) – Covers the transport of dangerous goods in packages, including labelling and packaging regulations.
  • Tanker Module (Optional) – Required if you plan to transport dangerous goods in bulk tankers.

The course covers the following hazardous goods classifications:

  • Class 2 – Gases (e.g. propane, butane, oxygen, compressed air)
  • Class 3 – Flammable Liquids (e.g. petrol, diesel, alcohol-based products)
  • Class 4 – Flammable Solids (e.g. matches, magnesium, sodium)
  • Class 5 – Oxidising Substances & Organic Peroxides (e.g. hydrogen peroxide, ammonium nitrate)
  • Class 6 – Toxic & Infectious Substances (e.g. pesticides, medical waste)
  • Class 8 – Corrosive Substances (e.g. sulphuric acid, battery acid)
  • Class 9 – Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods (e.g. asbestos, lithium batteries, environmentally hazardous substances)

Note: Explosives (Class 1) and Radioactive Materials (Class 7) are covered in separate specialist ADR courses and not included in this standard course.

This course is eligible for funding under the Government’s Skills Bootcamp programme, making it an affordable way to gain your ADR qualification.

  • Employee of your own Company £61.27 (depending on business type).

Are you Employed and being upskilled by your employer?

  • Your employer pays £61.27 (under 250 employees).
  • Your employer pays £183.81 (250+ employees).

If you do not qualify for government funding, you can still book this ADR training course at the commercial rate of £595.
