Forklift Truck & MHE Trainee Instructors

Is this role for me?

In this role you will join a well-established team of trainers to deliver technical related training, evaluate and monitor the progress of learners and support them through the test process. The team is close-knit and you will be given every support to be successful in your role.

You will be based at either Helvellyn Building, Carlisle Airport Business Park, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA6 4NW or Lillyhall Industrial Estate, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 4JH. There may be requirement for travel between the two sites.

The starting salary is £29,000 for a trainee, rising to £32,000 once fully qualified and experienced.

This role could be full or part time and will be discussed at interview stage.

Role Duties

• Once qualified, deliver FLT & MHE training to a cohort of committed learners, to the high standards required by the company whilst meeting all the awarding and examining bodies requirements as well as completing centre documentation in a timely fashion.
• Assess and ensure that participants have the required skills to effectively and safely perform the driving duties that their role requires.
• Take responsibility for the supervision of course participants, risk assessments and Health & Safety requirements relevant to FLT/MHE training.

Qualifications/ Knowledge Required

Essential

• Hold an accredited FLT Operator qualification e.g. RTITB
• Experience in working in the warehousing and storage industry
• A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to use a computer

Desirable

• Previous experience of coaching, assessing and/or training
• Additional vehicle and MHE machinery licences

Business Development and Marketing Intern

As part of our ongoing expansion plans, we have an exciting paid internship opportunity for a dynamic professional at the beginning of their funding and sales career. Working alongside our Managing Director and other key team members, this initial 6-month internship will throw you into the deep end as you learn to navigate funding bids, strategically assess new opportunities and support our continued expansion within the apprenticeship and wider skills sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, shaping, and delivering high-quality, compliant, and compelling bids and proposals. You will also develop and maintain strategic relationships with key funding partners.

Whilst initially set at a 6-month internship, we would hope that the internship would lead to a permanent position for the right candidate. This role would ideally suit a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their professional career.

This role is office based at our offices in English Gate Plaza, Botchergate.

Role Duties

• Proactively engage new education employers through outward business development activities, highlighting the benefits of employing apprentices and using apprenticeships to provide upskilling to current employees
• Respond to incoming enquiries, helping candidates and education employers to choose the correct training and give them advice on options, both over email and the phone
• Support the development of creative marketing campaigns including on social media
• Support learners and apprentices undertaking a variety of education training courses using cloud-based software systems
• Provide administration support to the wider work-based learning team.
