Is this role for me?

In this role you will join a well-established team of trainers to deliver driver related training, evaluate and monitor the progress of learners and support them through the test process. Experience and ability to deliver classroom Driver CPC workshops to qualified LGV drivers would also be desirable.

The starting salary is £27,000 – £31,500 and will rise to £32,600 once qualified and experienced. Starting salary can be discussed at interview for experienced and qualified trainers.

At this time, this role may best suit a sub-contractor interested in ad-hoc work. However, full or part time employment could be discussed at interview stage.

Whilst this role is based in Bedford, our main offices are based in Carlisle, Cumbria. There will be a hybrid/online element to this role and travel may be required to Carlisle for training etc.

Role Duties

As part of the role you will:

  • Deliver LGV learner driving courses to DVSA test standard to a cohort of committed learners.
  • Prepare candidates for DVSA LGV theory and driving tests
  • Undertake driver assessments and development of LGV licence holders.
  • Assess and ensure that participants have the required skills to effectively and safely perform the driving duties that their role requires.
  • Take responsibility for the supervision of course participants, risk assessments and Health & Safety requirements relevant to driver training.
  • There may also be opportunity to deliver classroom-based Driver CPC workshops.

And or

  • Deliver FLT & MHE training to a cohort of committed learners, to the high standards required by the company whilst meeting all the awarding and examining bodies requirements as well as completing centre documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Assess and ensure that participants have the required skills to effectively and safely perform the driving duties that their role requires.
  • Take responsibility for the supervision of course participants, risk assessments and Health & Safety requirements relevant to FLT/MHE training.

Qualifications/ Knowledge Required

Essential

  • ·LGV C&E Driving Licence (3 years minimum)
  • 3 years’ worth of LGV driving experience

And/or

  • Accredited FLT Operator course e.g. RTITB
  • Experience in working in the warehousing and storage industry
  • A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use a computer

Desirable

  • Previous experience of coaching, assessing and/or training
  • Instructor qualifications, but training will be provided
  • RTITB FLT Instructor qualification, but training will be provided
  • Additional vehicle and machinery licences

Transport Supervisor Apprenticeship Tutor - Level 3

Full Time/Part Time

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Work Based Learning team to deliver the Level 3 Transport Supervisor Apprenticeship to employed professional learners across a range of logistics employers.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year

Reporting to the Logistics & Leadership and Management Sector Manager, you will make up an essential part of the apprenticeships training team. You will join a hybrid team consisting of Learning Advisors, Tutors and support staff all working together to deliver high quality apprenticeships to our clients. This role can be hybrid or office based, with our main offices based in Carlisle.

Role Duties

This role offers a real opportunity for you to help shape and develop the skills of logistics professionals, from professionals starting their management career to those building upon their practice. Acting as a subject matter specialist you will be expected to drive the development and delivery of this specialised and interesting programme of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of engaging learning materials and preparing schemes of work
  • Manage a case load of learners maintaining records to monitor learner progress, achievement and attendance
  • Deliver workshop and 1-2-1 training online, including lesson planning
  • Carry out assessments and assess portfolio work of Level 3 learners
  • Provide pastoral care and support to learners when required
  • Engage with employers in a professional and supportive manner
  • Support the recruitment of new apprentices where appropriate

Is this job right for me?

We are looking for someone who is highly driven and motivated and would like to join a training provider that is focused on quality learning and the learner experience. It is essential that you have effective interpersonal and communication skills and a keen interest and commitment to learning and development. You will be well supported by the Directors, Trainers, central administration and the quality & compliance support team, all working together to ensure the best environment for our learners.

It is essential that you have a Level 3 or higher qualification, ideally in a related subject to Leadership and Management/Logistics , and/or significant experience (c. 3 years) working in a leadership/management role within the transport/logistics sector.

It would be advantageous but not essential if you have the following;

  • A teaching or training qualification, Level 3 or higher. However, we are able to offer training to a competitive candidate.
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections
  • Assessor qualifications
  • Experience of curriculum development and educational quality processes

This role could be full or part time and will be discussed at interview stage.
