System People Ltd was one of only nineteen training providers nationwide selected for the first Ofsted inspections delivered under the new Education Inspection Framework. The reforms represent a major shift for the sector, bringing understandable anticipation and uncertainty for providers facing the new approach for the first time.
The new framework’s emphasis on a “secure fit” rather than the previous “best fit” model sets a more consistent and rigorous benchmark for all providers.
‘While expectations are undoubtedly higher, we welcome the direction Ofsted is taking. High-quality education deserves clarity, consistency, and ambition. We were heartened to see how thoughtfully inspectors applied and contextualised the framework throughout the visit.’ Tony Higgins, Managing Director
Despite the pressures of being among the first to experience the new system, we found the process to be collaborative, transparent, and constructive from start to finish.
‘Our aim is to deliver high-quality vocational training within the logistics and education sectors that enables learners to develop their skills, improve their knowledge and succeed in their chosen profession. We’re extremely proud of the feedback from the Ofsted inspectors, which celebrates the quality and talent of our experienced team.’ Robin Brown, Chairman

‘Apprentices make extensive progress from their starting points and produce work of a very high standard. They acquire the extensive knowledge, skills and behaviours that they need for employment and to fulfil their future career aspirations.’ Extract from Ofsted report
‘Apprentices secure sustained employment, with many gaining promotions or moving on to higher-level training.’ Extract from Ofsted report
We are particularly delighted to have been awarded Exceptional in Adult Learning Achievement; a reflection of the remarkable progress, development, and outcomes our learners achieve. The Strong judgements across both adult learning and apprenticeship provision further demonstrate the dedication of our staff team and the supportive, high-quality experience they strive to deliver every day.
Achieving the Expected Standard and above means an organisation will not be inspected again for four years, and we are proud to have achieved this threshold during the very first round of inspections under the new framework.
Reflections on the New Framework
Like many providers, we approached the reforms with careful attention and a desire to understand how the new model would work in practice. During the inspection we found that inspectors applied the framework with clarity and fairness and created an open, collaborative environment where discussions were forward-looking and centred on meaningful improvement.
Over the next few months, many providers across the sector will experience their own inspections. Whilst this is a period of change for everyone, we hope that other providers share an experience similar to ours, demonstrating that the new approach – while demanding – can be constructive, positive, and ultimately beneficial for learners.
