DCPC – Drivers’ Hours and Record Keeping

Course Content

This course covers the basic regulations for EU regulated hours, the Working Time regulations for Mobile Workers and UK domestic regulations. It also covers requirements for record keeping and the use of digital tachographs, including the process for making manual entries.

Course Aim

This module aims to ensure you have a working understanding of the:

• Requirements of EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations (EC561/2006) and the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations
• Penalties and consequences of breaches of these regulations
• Requirements of Tachograph Regulations (165/2014) including penalties for failure to use and improper use

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module you should be able to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of drivers’ hours and working time regulations
• Apply your understanding of drivers’ hours regulations to practical scenarios
• Understand and comply with the recording requirements of tachograph regulations including use of analogue and digital tachographs.
